BREAKING: King of the Hill star Johnny Hardwick dies at 59 as voice actor found in his Texas home

Voice actor Johnny Hardwick well-known for his character Dale Gribble on hit animated series King of the Hill has died at 59 years old after being found dead at the scene in his Texas home

Johnny Hardwick, famously known for his role as character Dale Gribble on “King of the Hill” has died at 59 years old.

Law enforcement was called to Hardwick’s Texas home Tuesday for a welfare check and discovered his body. According to TMZ, Johnny was pronounced dead at the scene and there was no foul play suspected. The cause of his death is still unknown.

But most fondly remember Johnny from later in his career as his character on the animated sitcom “King of the Hill,” a 13-season long animated show. His character Dale was an exterminator, smoker, gun fanatic, and conspiracy-theorist and best friend of the show’s lead Hank. Johnny’s voice was used in 258 episodes of the hit series which ended in 2010.

Johnny was awarded one primetime Emmy award and was nominated for an additional three during his run as the character Dale. The famous voice character won the prestigious award for Outstanding Animated Program in 1999.
