Two people in a car believed to have been illegally street racing in Compton, California, have died after crashing into an LA County Fire truck which left four firefighters injured
Two people have been killed and four more injured after a crash between a car and a fire truck.
The two people in the car are understood to be the ones who died, with four firefighters injured. The crash happened in Compton, Los Angeles County in California at the intersection of Avalon and Compton Boulevards.
A man and a woman were inside the car and died at the scene. Four firefighters are said to have suffered minor injuries.
Sergeant Jody Stottlemyer with the California Highway Patrol said: “The fire truck and the vehicle became involved in a collision at the intersection… I was told that [the fire truck’s] lights were activated, they were proceeding through the intersection with a green light at the time, but that’s all preliminary.”
