A mum thought her son was going to die when he fell while climbing a pillar and landed on a spiked fence, which pierced his kidney.
Teegun Williams, eight, was out playing with friends and had been sitting on a pillar outside a church in Cwmparc, Wales, when he fell. He incredibly managed to pull himself off the fence and got himself home, despite a gaping wound in his side.
Mum Adie Morris, 29, says she nearly fainted and later learned the spike penetrated more than 2cms into his body, penetrating his kidney. He was rushed to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and later transferred to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital in Cardiff where he stayed for five days.
Adie told WalesOnline : “I panicked and was shaking â it was horrific. So much crossed my mind and I was in complete shock. He was clammy, really white, and shaking â he thought he was going to die.
