An 11-year-old boy living at his aunts house was playing with her ‘therapy’ dog, when the pup became overwhelmed and attacked him – sending him to the hospital with his injuries
An 11-year-old boy and his brother were playing with their aunt’s therapy dog when it bit him in the face – with the owner suggesting the pooch was “overwhelmed” by the boys’ strength.
One child sustained bites to the face, neck, eye, head, and arm, requiring hospitalisation. The boy’s aunt, Johanna Lopez-Ramos, said he was in surgery early Tuesday evening.
The American Bully pit bull mix, named Aries, couldn’t handle both of the young boys playing with her. The dog attacked the boy, identified as Joshua, around 2.50pm.
The aunt believes the boys were “too much” for the dog, who couldn’t handle two 11-year-olds stimulating her, which prompted the attack. Lopez-Ramos says the dog was taken away in a crate and will be put down.
