 A 17-year-old boy who disappeared almost one month ago has sadly been found dead at a park. Russel Burdett-Deakin had been reported missing from Maidstone, Kent, on Wednesday, September 6. The teenager's body was tragically discovered in woodland at Mote Park on Monday morning. Family and friends issued multiple appeals and extensive searches had been carried out in an attempt to find Russel. Police had also released a number of CCTV images as part of their appeal to trace his whereabouts. He was last seen leaving his home near Sutton Road. Russel was a student at Mid Kent College and former Maplesden Noakes School pupil, according to KentOnline. 'Kent Police attended Mote Park at around 11am on Monday 2 October 2023, where a body was located in woodland. 'While formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of a 17-year-old boy who was reported missing on Wednesday 6 September 2023 have been informed.' Relatives confirmed his tragic death on social media and have paid tribute. One family member said: 'You left us far too young, you were an amazing lad about to become a man. Forever in our hearts, you now own your halo and your angel wings.' Another friend wrote: 'I know we hadn't spoke for some time but you were such a big part in my life at one point.
