Nadia Almada emerged victorious from the Big Brother house nearly 20 years ago, and the win changed her life.

As well as being given £63,500, and becoming an overnight celebrity with new career opportunities – she released the single A Little Bit of Action and appeared on Hollyoaks – the reality TV show gave her something that money can’t buy – an acceptance that she’d previously never felt before in her life.

‘The best part of Big Brother was the acceptance and embracement,’ Nadia, now 46, told Metro.co.uk.
