'I was embraced and that was a beautiful thing. It came from cisgender males, cisgender females, everyone! The whole country was behind me and they adored me.' Nadia Almada emerged victorious from the Big Brother house nearly 20 years ago, and the win changed her life.
As well as being given £63,500, and becoming an overnight celebrity with new career opportunities – she released the single A Little Bit of Action and appeared on Hollyoaks – the reality TV show gave her something that money can’t buy – an acceptance that she’d previously never felt before in her life.
‘The best part of Big Brother was the acceptance and embracement,’ Nadia, now 46, told Metro.co.uk.
