Bernardo Silva is giving serious consideration to signing a new contract with Manchester City, thus ending speculation that he is set to join Barcelona.
Silva has been regarded as a potential recruit by Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all summer.
Both clubs view Silva as a potentially transformative signing but they are yet to submit an official bid for the 28-year-old playmaker and there are serious doubts about whether Barcelona can afford to sign one of City’s best players.
Silva mulled over the possibility of leaving City at the end of last season, just as he did in the previous two summers, citing a desire to be closer to his family in Portugal. For that reason – and other factors – he would have preferred a
