 Ben Fogle has blasted a lack of 'accountability' in the world and urged people to 'take responsibility' for their actions. The 49-year-old TV adventurer took aim at 'lazy' keyboard warriors and politicians for fostering a 'pandemic of blame' by refusing to accept any blame for their shortcomings. In a lengthy Instagram post, he wrote: 'Accountability! Where has it gone? If there is one thing I have learnt during my expeditions, it's to take responsibility and ownership of my own actions… To respect and acknowledge my own accountability. 'We win or lose, succeed or fail, live or die according to our personal actions. There seems to be a pandemic of blame. Everyone is at it, blaming others for their own errors, failings or frustrations. Politicians do it. CEOs do it. Everyone is at it. 'Take responsibility and accept your own short comings or failings. Own them. Learn from them. 'As an orator once said, 'success is stumbling from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm'. Blaming others is a lazy, lame way of excusing your own mistakes.' Ben – who is set to 'give Indiana Jones a run for his money' on his new Channel 5 show – pointed out that people shouldn't have to tear others down to make themselves feel better. He continued: 'Blame has reached such epic proportions that many feel that blaming others someone makes them better. It doesn't. It just makes you lazy. Another keyboard warrior, pile on, shirker. 'Remember, 'blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours glow any brighter', on the contrary, there is less light to go around.' And while he noted that 'making mistakes is human nature', Ben thinks it's important to 'restore accountability'. 'I have made plenty of mistakes. I have had errors of judgment.
