‘Beautiful’ caravan site voted top of 2023 and visitors dub it the ‘best’

Sites for every shape and size at Inn Town Campground (Image: Inn Town Campground ) The Inn Town Campground  in Nevada City, California has just been awarded the Travellers’ Choice Best Award in 2023 on  Tripadvisor,  with every reviewer giving a glowing report and awarding the campground five stars. Owners Dan and Erin Thiem have taken camping to a whole new level in Nevada City. It comes from a love of the outdoors, developed at an early age, with Erin river rafting with her family in California and Dan spending his youth participating in Boy Scout camping expeditions.  After meeting at college, they spent a summer driving to Alaska in a 1981 VW Van followed by five years living in New Zealand. It was then they were inspired by the parks they stayed at along the way.   When they returned they put their experience to good use and the  Inn Town Campground  was born in 2016. Built from the ground up, the couple has brought to Nevada City a vibrant camping experience with tents, glamping, and RV sites. The campground is on a historic 15-acre site, just two miles from downtown. It sits within a towering pine forest of over 2,000 trees; a stunning rural retreat set in the picturesque Gold Country.  Bespoke headboards are a creative touch at Inn Town Campground (Image: Inn Town Campground) There’s a lovely outdoor pool, and a well-equipped store with their own branded t.shirts, bags, caps, and bottles. There’s a decent wine selection and the all-important gourmet marshmallows for toasting in the fire.  The campground is also dog friendly and it is such a safe environment, the kids can scoot around on their bikes without fear of traffic. There are camping areas, RV Sites with hook-ups, and for those who like it all set up for them, there are glamping sites.  The 20 glamping sites have detailed pictures of both location and interiors right down to the decking and the view from the front of the tent.   There’s no ‘roughing it’ here. The 15 deluxe tents come complete with lovely beds covered in crisp linens and pretty quilts.  The classic camping sites are just as beautiful. Campers will feel like they’re in the middle of a State Park or National Forest and can choose from over 30 different positions.  RV drivers are well catered for too with 16 sites set within the property. There are lovely little spots that will suit a cute, vintage trailer to those where you can back in a large modern rig. You can even pick whether you want a shady spot or full sun. The campground is so clean and well-maintained. It’s really wonderful that the store is attached to a fully stocked common room with a kitchen and dining tables. The outdoor movie is such a nice touch. I loved letting my kids zoom around on their scooters and felt safe the whole time”. Great Campground “Great, clean peaceful place. Restrooms are fantastic. Great location Will be back with the family. Great visits to nearby Nevada City and GrassValley”.  Awesome Campground  “The forest and foliage are just beautiful here with the spaces nicely arranged – so truly you get a great outdoor experience. So quiet and peaceful at night. And then you add in the superbly clean and well ran campground with the very helpful and friendly staff – and this campground ranks as awesome”. On Inn Town Campground’s site, happy campers left the following comments: One wrote: “Take the woods and create a space that invites people to experience the trees and stars. Build sites with power and hookups. More sites for tents. Then finish with canvas tents complete with decks overlooking the forest. Sounds like a dreamy quest. And a lot, a lot, of work”. And another: “If your idea of roughing it comes with linen-clad beds, a bathhouse, and artist-designed lighting, then make a reservation at Nevada City’s Inn Town Campground, where the glamping sites promise a plush place to crash after a day of play in the Sierra foothills”.
