BBC Breakfast star Victoria Valentine is set to take a break from the broadcaster – as she plans a completely new career.

Victoria will be well known to viewers of the hit breakfast show but has decided to take some time away from the programme and the broadcaster in favour of a new career. Explaining her dream, Victoria revealed she would be heading back to university. She explained she’d be going into something to do with neuroscience as it was a field she is interested in, and is hopeful that in around four years’ time, she would be standing there as a doctor.

“I wanted to let you in on something I’ve been thinking about and working towards for some time now. I am taking a little bit of a break from broadcasting and from the BBC in order to explore something new,” she said on Instagram stories. “So I – at the grand old age of 39 – going back to university. I am enrolled in a full time masters course, psychological sciences which I’ve kind of sold to my parents as a bit of neuroscience with some thinking and feeling stuff attached to it.”

She revealed she’d be heading back to study for at least four years, but didn’t know what would happen after that. Victoria added: “You can probably understand why that would appeal and be something I’m interested in. Should that all go well and I’m not terrible at it, I’ll be looking to progress and do a doctorate. Perhaps four years from now you’ll be looking at Dr Valentine.”
