Richie Gray will miss Scotland’s final Autumn Nations Series match against Argentina on Saturday after being handed a three-week ban for an act of foul play in the 31-23 defeat by New Zealand last weekend.
The Glasgow Warriors lock denied that the offence – making contact with the head with the elbow or forearm – was worthy of a red card, but the disciplinary committee determined that “on the balance of probabilities, there was foul play in that the player had led with his elbow in the tackle area which was dangerous to others”.
