Baldur’s Gate 3 scuffed rock explained

You’ll need some high strength to deal with one of the earliest hurdles in Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game packed full of mystery and challenges, with one of the early-game trials being the mystery of a big rock.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s PC release has taken the world by storm, blasting to the top of the best-seller charts on Steam. Even without the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions showing up at launch, the game has blown past the studio’s expectations (with Larian Studios’ CEO Swen Vincke admitting on Twitter that he told the IT team to “100k or so at max” when the game went on to have over 800,000 concurrent players).

One of the earliest mysteries you’ll come across in your adventure is at the Nautiloid crash site where you’ll come across a scuffed rock. You’ll be able to spot this rock as it’s a different colour than all of the terrain surrounding it. Once you head over to the rock you’ll have a perception check, which if passed will reveal that something is hidden underneath it.

The scuffed rock is to the southwest of the Nautiloid crash site, you’ll want to head to the coast and you should be able to find a path that will lead you to a small river from where the rock is visible. You’ll need to simply cross the river and reach the rock to interact with it.
