That's right – the series created by Brendan O'Carroll who stars as Agnes Brown, will be back in a matter of weeks. The comedian has no doubt written more crazy scenes for his character who is the matriarch of the Brown family, her six children and their friends who are based in Dublin. Having been thwarted twice, firstly by Covid-19 and then by a post-Covid shortage of studios, it's fantastic to, at last, have the chance to make it happen.' He then warned: 'Fasten your seatbelts and hold on to your hats!' Although we joke, the programme has attracted large audiences. In 2018, their Christmas special was watched by 6.8 million viewers which is around one third of the viewing public and it was firmly in the top three most-watched Christmas Day programmes in the five years prior.
