Awkward moment Bobby Brazier’s asked about late mum Jade as he joins Strictly

Strictly unveils BBC presenter Nikita Kanda as ninth contestant Bobby Brazier has been announced as the latest star to join Strictly Come Dancing’s class of 2023. The 20-year-old is perhaps best known for his role as Freddie Slater in EastEnders on BBC One. He is also the son of Jeff Brazier and the late Big Brother legend Jade Goody who died in March 2009 following a battle with cancer. Bobby has also modelled for luxury fashion brands including Dolce & Gabbana and he has graced the cover of Man About Town. Across socials, the star regularly shares life updates and shows off his spiritual side as a passionate advocate for positive mental health and well-being. Bobby Brazier made the announcement on BBC Breakfast Bobby was speaking live from the set of EastEnders to BBC Breakfast hosts Jon Kay and Rachel Burden on Wednesday to announce he was part of the Strictly line-up. However, the actor admitted he was a “bit nervous” as he’d never had a live interview before. He struggled with the earpiece and had to ask the hosts to repeat their questions before he got the hang of things. He said: “Good morning, sorry, I’m a little bit nervous as I’ve never done live before, but I am happy.” Jon wanted to ask Bobby about his late mother who died when he was just five years old. Jade became one of the nation’s first reality stars after appearing on Big Brother before later appearing on Celebrity Big Brother and India’s version of the show called Bigg Boss. John said: “Our viewers will remember your mum being on Big Brother, the biggest show on television at the time.
