 On how this doll would've impacted her growing up, Ashley said: 'If I would have had a Barbie that looked like my body shape growing up, I think my mind would have not been as traumatised. 'And I wouldn't have looked at myself in the mirror and thought, 'Why do I have this and she has that?'' Ashley – who attended the LA premiere of the new Barbie movie last week – assured she's become 'more confident' over the years. Ashley Graham has shared just how important it is for kids to feel represented by the toys they play with.
The model and self-proclaimed body activist admitted she felt ‘traumatised’ growing up as she played with Barbie dolls that didn’t look like her.
Ashley, 35, has now had a Barbie specially designed by Mattel in her likeness, which has thick thighs and belly fat.
