Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Pepe set for Saudi move, Balogun “cool” on future, Arteta warning

After finally completing the signings of Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice, Arsenal’s attention in the transfer window will now turn to moving on some of the deadwood in Mikel Arteta’s squad

Arsenal’s summer spending hit £200m over the weekend with their long-awaited signings of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber finally announced.

The Gunners spent a club-record fee on Rice, with the West Ham captain arriving shortly after Timber joined Mikel Arteta’s side from Ajax. Those two additions, coupled with the earlier signing of Kai Havertz, means that Arsenal chiefs have once again invested heavily.

That means that there are likely to be several exits on the horizon, with Arteta ready to move on some of the deadwood in his squad. Rob Holding and Nicolas Pepe appear likely to leave, with academy graduate Folarin Balogun also attracting interest, with little chance he will be given a major playing role this season.

Stay tuned for live updates from the Emirates…
