Arsenal are closing to announcing a deal to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, while sporting director Edu is working hard on player sales to trim Mikel Arteta’s squad
Arsenal struck a deal with Brentford to sign goalkeeper David Raya on Wednesday night as their busy summer transfer window continues at pace.
The Spaniard is set to arrive to provide competition for Aaron Ramsdale after sporting director Edu agreed to a £3million loan deal, with the option to make it permanent for £27m at the end of the season. He will join Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber in the new-look squad and replaces Matt Turner, who has left for Nottingham Forest.
Edu will now turn his attention to sales. Folarin Balogun is wanted by multiple clubs, including Monaco and Inter, Nicolas Pepe could finally leave amid interest from Besiktas, and Marquinhos is set for another loan spell, this time with Nantes.
Alex Runarsson, Cedric Soares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares are all available for transfer, Meanwhile, there is interest in Jorginho and Thomas Partey to consider.
