On Monday, Tomiyasu became the first Arsenal player to officially be selected for Qatar 2022 when he was named in Japan’s 26-man squad.
Based on form, the full-back’s call-up was never in question but there were concerns that he could miss out due to a muscle injury he sustained in the Gunners win over FC Zurich last Thursday.
