More info Morgan understood the decision to leave out Havertz but didn’t share the same view over Ramsdale’s omission. He claimed the 25-year-old did not deserve to lose his place. Morgan wrote on X: “I don’t understand what Ramsdale has done to deserve being dropped? Havertz, yes.. but Ramsdale’s been consistently superb for us. Why humiliate him?” In a later post, he wrote: “I don’t believe in having 2 top ‘keepers with neither knowing who’s No 1. Nothing against Raya, who is very good, but don’t like the way Ramsdale’s being treated.” Ramsdale only signed a new contract at Arsenal earlier this year. The deal will keep him at the Emirates until the summer of 2026 with an option of a further year but his axe on Sunday will only raise doubts over his long-term spot in the side. Trending
