 Antiques Roadshow expert Theo Burrell has pleaded for more funding to be poured into brain cancer research as she faces her own terminal diagnosis. The 36-year-old revealed in June that she had been diagnosed with 'an incurable aggressive grade 4 brain tumour' last year following the birth of her son. The ceramics expert, who has since undergone 'surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy to keep the cancer under control,' was given just two years to live, and was told that her 'tumour will return and kill me'. She's previously said the diagnosis left her 'devastated', coming when her son Jonah was just a year old. But now Theo has thrown her support behind a petition calling for more funding into the disease. The charity Brain Tumour Research is currently asking the Government to ring-fence £110 million of current and new funding to kick-start an increase in the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million a year by 2028. 'Brain tumours are so underfunded, and they have such a poor prognosis. Brain cancer seems to be a few steps ahead of us, it's outsmarting us,' she wrote. The expert added: 'We can get a man on the moon, but we can't cure brain tumours; it's so frustrating that funding is so thin on the ground.
