Anthony Richardson’s second NFL start got off to the perfect start with two rushing touchdowns, but the Indianapolis Colts QB was then quickly ruled out due to an ugly head injury
Anthony Richardson was ruled out for the Indianapolis Colts after suffering a gruesome head injury early in his second NFL game.
The number-four overall pick made a sensational start to Sunday’s road game at AFC South rivals the Houston Texans, scoring a pair of highlight-reel rushing touchdowns, showing all of his supreme athleticism as he reached paydirt.
But the second of those scores led to an early end to his afternoon. The 21-year-old was bundled to the floor after getting over the goalline, and the back of his helmet thumped into the turf with a whiplash effect.
The Florida Gators alum celebrated with his teammates, but shortly after he was evaluated for a concussion with the Colts leading by 14 at the end of the first quarter. Backup Gardner Minshew stepped in and Richardson was swiftly downgraded to out.
