NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Anthony Joshua has labelled Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou a ‘nonsense’ fight in a latest dig at his heavyweight rival.
On Tuesday, it was confirmed the WBC champion will take on former UFC heavyweight king Ngannou in a non-title fight under boxing rules on 28 October in Saudi Arabia.
While likely to be a hugely lucrative event, the fight has left many boxing purists underwhelmed having seen Fury fail to secure fights with Oleksandr Usyk and Joshua this year.
‘The Gypsy King’ has fought once in the last 15 months in a mismatch against Dereck Chisora, with calls for him to be stripped of his WBC belt growing in the wake of the Ngannou announcement.
