The new alert covers parts of the South West and Wales , including Cardiff and Bath between 11am and 8pm. It states: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause disruption in some places. "Flooding is also likely to affect a few roads. "Some short-term loss of power and other services could occur." Damage to homes is also "possible" due to floodwater or lightning strikes. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to cool, with highs of just 22C across the country. It comes after flooding affected some areas yesterday as heavy downpours rolled in from the South West. The Environment Agency has 29 flood alerts active, meaning flooding is possible, including in parts of Northumberland , Warwickshire and Staffordshire . The Met's forecast for tomorrow predicts much of the same, with heavy showers beginning early and conditions staying cool for many. However, sunshine is on the way, as the outlook for the rest of the week reads: "Continued unsettled conditions with sunny spells and showers, at times torrential and thunder. "Breezy, especially in the South. "Temperatures around the seasonal average."
