Angela Rayner: I’m relaxed about the filthy rich… if they pay tax

Ms Rayner insisted Labour wants Britons to “create wealth”, chiming with the famous words of the party’s former spin doctor, Peter Mandelson

Angela Rayner, Labour’s deputy leader, has admitted being relaxed about people in Britain becoming “filthy rich” but said “as long as they pay their taxes”. 

The Labour frontbencher has long made a point of her working class roots, and rose to prominence under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership. 

During his time as leader, Mr Corbyn tweeted “there would be no billionaires and no one would live in poverty” in a fair society.

Now, Ms Rayner insisted Labour wants Britons to “create wealth”, chiming with the party’s former spin doctor, Peter Mandelson.
