Andy Murray can lead the British charge to the US Open third round

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

So this year’s US Open has become the second ‘grass’ court grand slam of the year after Maria Sakkari complained she could smell a waft of marijuana as she suffered a shock exit from the tournament.

The Class B drug is illegal in the United Kingdom but there’s no problem possessing cannabis in New York City if you’re over the age of 21.

Alexander Zverev also complained Court 17 smelled like ‘Snoop Dogg’s living room’ but an investigation held by the US Tennis Association was unable to weed out the perpetrators and concluded the smokers may have been imbibing their substances outside the Flushing Meadows arena.

Fortunately, one thing that didn’t go to pot was our bet on all four British players advancing in the men’s singles on Tuesday with Andy Murray, Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans and Jack Draper all covering the -5.5 games handicap to reach the second round and bring in the accumulator at odds of around 10/1.
