Alexander Armstrong’s quiet life in remote village where average home fetches £853,000

Alexander Armstrong has been gracing Britons’ TV screens for years and is famously one-half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller with Ben Miller. The 53-year-old currently presents The Imitation Game and Pointless and is a guest presenter on Have I Got News For You. The presenter and comedian has also voiced Mr Smith, Sarah Jane Smith’s alien (Xylok) supercomputer in The Sarah Jane Adventures and the series four two-part finale of Doctor Who. Alexander was born in Rothbury, Northumberland and is the youngest of three children. He previously studied English at Cambridge before joining the Footlights. After graduating in 1992, he moved to London to pursue a career in acting and comedy.
