The England white-ball coach Matthew Mott has said that the team have regained their “swagger” but would need to take their game to another level to beat Pakistan in the final on Sunday.
Mott also said that Alex Hales, who struck an unbeaten 86 from 47 balls to sweep England past India in the semi-finals – after scores of 52 from 40 balls against New Zealand and 47 from 30 against Sri Lanka – is now a genuine contender for next winter’s 50-over World Cup in India despite not playing the format since early 2019.
