As you're walking around Aldi, look for red stickers signalling big discounts. If you can, try to shop more frequently for fresh produce too, as this is the best way to hedge your bets and get your hands on the best savings. Julie says: 'All of Aldi's UK stores mark down perishable products by up to 75% on their last day of life, including bread, meat, and produce, while imperfectly packaged items like rice, cereal, and tinned food are discounted by 30%.' While some people think there's a specific time when stickered bargains are put out, at Aldi it's on a rolling basis. 'Reduction times vary by store, and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis,' adds Julie. 'Last year, analysis of Kantar data revealed how Brits could be spending a premium of £15.1billion a year for branded items in Big Four supermarkets instead of Aldi's exclusive own-label products,' explains Julie. 'That's a whopping £45 a month, or £542 a year, that could be saved by switching to own-label brands at Aldi.'
