With it being an exciting time for the business, there are also real opportunities to progress." It comes after Aldi increased its pay rates for thousands of warehouse workers from February 2023. Hourly pay went up from £11.48 to £13.13. Meanwhile, Aldi has just cut the price of 30 items in a cost of living boost for shoppers. Some of the items that have been reduced include fruit, butter, canned food, personal hygiene products and pet treats. Aldi says it has cut prices by around 7% on average. The move is the latest of more than 130 prices that Aldi has cut in the past two months across its entire range. Last month saw the budget supermarket slash the price of ten fruit and vegetables by up to 36%. Aldi has also announced it is trialling quieter shopping hours in almost 100 stores. Changes for customers will include stopping tannoy announcements, quieter till scan sounds and signposting the dedicated times to all shoppers. The 'sensory-friendly' experience will take place every Tuesday between 6pm and 8.30pm in stores throughout Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
