Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record now seems safe for the time being following Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich and the former had some words for the ex-Spurs star
Alan Shearer has declared Harry Kane “the best” after his big-money move to Bayern Munich was confirmed.
The England captain’s switch to the Allianz Arena was made official on Saturday morning after a deal of around £100m was agreed between the two clubs. Kane leaves North London second in the all-time Premier League goalscorers list.
The 30-year-old has 213 top-flight goals to his name and was previously hunting down Shearer’s record of 260. He now appears highly unlikely to reach that any time soon having put pen to paper on a four-year contract in Bavaria. After the move was made official, Kane took to Twitter with a short message for his club’s new supporters.
He wrote: “Been an incredible welcome for me and my family in Munich in the last 24 hours! Buzzing to have signed for such a massive club with an incredible history, can’t wait to get started! #miasanmia.”
