Judith Kilshaw has spoken about the infamous ‘cash-for-babies scandal’ which attracted international attention in 2000, ahead of her appearance in a three-part Amazon Prime Video series about it
The mum once reviled as “Britain’s most hated woman” after paying to adopt baby twins from America says she would love to meet the girls one last time now they’re all grown up.
Judith Kilshaw and her husband Alan sparked an international outcry in December 2000 when they paid £8,200 to adopt the girls, then brought them home to Wales.
The trouble began when another couple came forward, claiming they had already adopted the tots.
The full story of the cash-for-babies scandal that gripped the world two decades ago is to be told on TV for the first time in documentary Three Mothers, Two Babies and a Scandal, which launches Friday on Prime Video.
