Aaron Wan-Bissaka in talks over long-term Manchester United contract

The 25-year-old right-back is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford

Manchester United have opened talks over extending Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract following his progress under Erik ten Hag in the last year at Old Trafford.

Wan-Bissaka, 25, is in the final year of the terms agreed when he signed from Crystal Palace in 2019, although the club have an option to extend it by one season.

Discussions have taken place in the last month over a new deal to keep him at United beyond 2025 under a long-term contract. More talks are due now the summer transfer window has closed and focus is away from incoming signings.

Wan-Bissaka was out of the team in the six months before Ten Hag was appointed at United, then reshaped his game under the Dutchman. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph last season he described how Ten Hag has worked on the timing of his full-backs’ runs forward.
