You won’t need to know too much about the intricacies and finer details of football to grasp it. It involves Manchester United and the club’s Mason Greenwood, a highly talented, 21-year-old striker with the potential to be better than England captain Harry Kane.
Greenwood hit headlines in January last year when a disturbing piece of audio was posted on social media. He was accused of assault against a woman in a series of posts which included images and video of apparent injuries.
Greenwood was suspended on full pay on the day with the video going viral. He hasn’t played since. In October 2022 he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. He denied the charges, appeared before magistrates and was told he would face trial later this year.
