Royal Family set to enter ‘new territory’ as Harry’s memoir looms

Tensions within the Royal Family are set to enter ‘new territory’ in the coming months as the Duke of Sussex will release his tell-all memoir, Spare. Amid speculation the book could have been shelved to avoid backlash following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, publisher Penguin Random House confirmed the memoir will debut worldwide in January. This latest media venture from Prince Harry is tipped to heighten the ‘uncomfortable’ atmosphere in the royal household amid concerns the book will reveal his personal account of sensitive events. Royal commentator Sandro Monetti declared the Duke’s memoir is a new twist in royal affairs, ‘never done before’ by a member of the family .In an interview with American news network CNN, Mr Monetti discussed Prince Harry’s much-anticipated book.He reported: ‘It is raw, unflinching and honest, according to the press release.’From Harry’s point of view, he wants to get his own narrative out there as a matter of public record. This is nothing that royals have ever done before, so we’re in entirely new territory. ‘King Charles had offered an olive branch, but it appears that has been snapped in two with this.’ Prince Harry is set to release his official memoir in the new year (Image: GETTY) Sandro Monetti suggested the publication would mark new territory for the Royal Family (Image: CNN)Following news of the late Queen’s death, there was rampant speculation among royal commentators that the novel was undergoing intense editing and may even be scrapped entirely to avoid appearing insensitive to the monarch’s passing.Mr Monetti said: ‘There have been some edits to it, but I don’t think we’re going to get too much of a watered down version.’He added that, in light of the confirmed release date, it was ‘no surprise’ that reports had emerged that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had snubbed an invitation to spend Christmas in the UK with their royal relatives.’No surprise there – that would be a pretty uncomfortable meal just days away from the publication of the book.’Read more: Harry ‘the one with chip on his shoulder’ as Meghan defended by expert King Charles reportedly extended an olive branch to Prince Harry in a bid to reconcile with his son (Image: GETTY) Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly rejected an invitation to spend Christmas with in the UK (Image: GETTY)According to Penguin Random House, the ‘landmark publication’ will be a ‘raw’ account of Prince Harry’s life, packed full of ‘insight’ and ‘revelation’.A website launched in promotion of the book focused on the ‘searing image’ of Prince Harry and Prince William walking behind their mother’s coffin at the funeral of Princess Diana. This description has suggested the Duke’s struggle with grief from a young age could be a key focal point within the memoir.Notably, royal commentators have also highlighted that the title of the book likely references a phrase commonly associated with the two brothers: ‘The heir and the spare.’Don’t miss: Meghan and Harry ‘very unlikely’ to lose Sussex titles [REVEAL]Sussexes ‘very happy building life’ in US as titles on the line [INSIGHT]Harry to be ‘front and centre’ of book promotion tour in UK return [REPORT] The publisher has suggested the memoir will be a raw account of Prince Harry’s life (Image: GETTY)Mr Monetti asserted that the memoir will fuel the ‘endless soap opera’ surrounding the affairs of the Royal Family.Other royal experts have echoed this suggestion. Royal author Tom Bower reported: ‘People will obviously scour the text for the slightest criticism of Charles, Kate and William and they won’t be disappointed.’BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond noted that the chosen title of ‘Spare’ already hinted that the work is set to be ‘pretty damning’ for the Royal Family.Prince Harry’s memoir will be published globally in 16 different languages on the 10th January, with the proceeds from the book expected to be donated to a selection of charities supported by the Duke.Read next:King Charles ‘bewildered and betrayed’ by Meghan MarkleMeghan’s ‘inappropriate’ living request ‘firmly’ denied by late QueenPrince Louis has not reached one royal milestone yet’Sad and unfulfilled’ portrayal of Prince William torn apartPrince Harry’s memoir Camilla attack will be ‘nail in the coffin’
