Restaurant worker shares diner habit staff hate

A restaurant worker has opened up about a particularly annoying customer habit so many diners are guilty of, and says they are blissfully unaware of how this could affect their food orders

Despite many of us eagerly perusing the menu before heading out to a new restaurant, so often we’re left dithering over what we actually want, especially if we fear we’re going to end up with food envy over our mate’s sticky toffee pudding. But those who have worked in hospitality may well think twice before asking for a ‘few more minutes’ before ordering.

One restaurant worker has hilariously demonstrated what can happen when tables aren’t ready to decide on their orders straight off the bat, vindicating those of us who plan our starters, mains, and desserts many days in advance.

Taking to TikTok, a server – who goes by the username @thewalmart.kid – uploaded a video that shows what happens when ‘you forgot about the table who needed a few more mins to order’. In the clip, the server could be seen calmly folding napkins before suddenly remembering the table in question, and rushing toward it at a comically fast speed.

In the caption, he added, ‘the worst is when the meal is before the app’, offering a little insight into life working in the fast-paced restaurant industry.
