Adele says only London locals are able to pronounce her name ‘perfectly’ after previously admitting she dropped her ‘drab’ surname when she launched her career leaving her a single-name artist
Singer Adele might have a name known to millions around the globe but she’s finally let slip fans have been mispronouncing it for years.
And it took a question from a fellow Cockney during an interview to coincide with the I Drink Wine video release for Adele to share how her name should be pronounced.
Speaking on Happy Hour with Adele with Benito Skinner, a woman appeared on screen from London which left viewers in the studio and at home sharing in a moment of revelation.
Adele, 34, was delighted and exclaimed: “Where’s she from, Enfield? She said my name perfectly!”
