Sussexes ‘very happy building life’ in US as titles on the line

Despite speculation of a possible royal return of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, royal commentator Victoria Arbiter claimed that she believes that the couple “wouldn’t want to” resume their roles as senior royals in The Firm. The couple stepped down in March 2020, citing the desire to establish themselves as financially independent and to secure more privacy.Ms Arbiter told Australia’s Today Show that it may be “quite some time” before the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family are “able to come together”.She added: “They are very happy building this life outside their royal working life.”They’ve got their foundation, Meghan has her podcast, there’s a documentary on the Invictus Games coming out on Netflix, hopefully, next year.”She added that although people would like to see the relationship between the couple and the Royal Family “healed”, Meghan and Harry “won’t be coming back”.READ MORE: Royal system was ‘cruel to spare’ Harry and ‘edged him and Meghan out’ of Firm Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals in 2020 (Image: GETTY) Meghan and Harry have been married for 4 years (Image: PA)In 2020, in their official statement regarding their decision to step down as senior royals, Meghan and Harry claimed that they would “balance their time” between the United Kingdom and North America.The couple now resides in California with their two children, Archie, 3,  and Lilibet, 1.Despite living in America, the couple has returned to the UK on various occasions to attend events.They have visited the UK for either work purposes or a few Royal Family events, such as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.Harry returned to the UK, alone, in April 2021 for his late grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
