A bare-chested man punched, kicked and threw police officers to the ground when they tried to arrest him in Nottingham this weekend.
Daniel Johnson, 39, went on the rampage against five officers at around 1am on Saturday morning – but was languishing in jail within two days.
Despite a nationwide backlog in court proceedings – the Londoner was sent to prison for 12 months yesterday at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.
Johnson became aggressive when police attempted to arrest him in a city centre hotel after being called to a report of a woman being assaulted.
