Boris Johnson reportedly held an evet in his new office in Westminster on Tuesday for 60 of his supporters to “seek to protect his legacy”. The Times’ Steven Swinford said the former Prime Minster told MPs he will continue to support new Prime Minsiter Rishi Sunak and his government. However, he wants to protect his 2019 manifesto which won the party the General Election in 2019. Mr Swinford said: “He told MPs he will support Sunak and the new govt but he also said he will seek to ‘protect his legacy’ on Ukraine, Brexit, levelling up and the 2019 manifesto.” Mr Johnson dropped out of the Tory leadership race last month saying it was “not the right time”, despite having the backing of 102 MPs.FOLLOW BELOW FOR UPDATES… Boris Johnson gathers 60 loyalists in Westminster to ‘protect his legacy’ (Image: Getty)
