Declan Rice may copy Jack Grealish and make Man Utd U-turn

Declan Rice’s comments on Old Trafford were eerily similar to those previously uttered by Jack Grealish. Manchester United are believed to hold an interest in bringing the 23-year-old to the club, something they previously had with Grealish. However, they were unable to use his admiration for the club to convince him to sign and there are now fears the same could happen with the West Ham skipper. Rice is considered by many to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and has become a crucial component for both club and country. He has attracted attention from some of the biggest clubs in world football with United joining Chelsea in the race for his signature. The club’s fanbase had their hopes raised this weekend that he may consider a move to the north-west as he talked up the prospect of playing at Old Trafford with West Ham. The England international spoke of being motivated by the ground given its rich history.’It’s inspiring for sure, it’s Old Trafford,’ Rice told Sky Sports before the game as he gazed across United’s stadium. ‘You think of the heritage, the big games that are played here, the players that have played here. You want to come here, stamp your mark and get a win yourself.’DON’T MISS: Newcastle have decided their next signing as January priority emerges Declan Rice’s comments on Manchester United’s ground Old Trafford echo those made by Jack Grealish. (Image: GETTY)Sadly for Rice, he went home empty-handed as his current side fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat with David de Gea producing a fantastic save to keep out the midfielder’s long-range strike in the dying moments of the match. Now, the Red Devils’ pursuit of the player risks going the same way as their initial interest in Grealish. The club were keen admirers of the winger while he was at Aston Villa and he had also spoke up about his love for the club’s ground after scoring there in 2019. “That was my favourite goal ever, scoring at Old Trafford, ” Grealish told Sky Sports after the 2-2 draw. ‘I’ve always wanted to play at Old Trafford. “I’ve played there before in a reserve cup final but it’s not the same when it’s like that. That’s obviously my favourite ground in the Premier League. READ MOREJuventus have ‘true stance’ on Spurs boss Conte as private chat leakedWhat Arsenal medics ‘believe’ about Bukayo Saka injuryCristiano Ronaldo loses Man Utd dressing room title after record beat Declan Rice has been linked with a move to Manchester United (Image: GETTY)”If you actually watch the goal, I get so much curve on the ball I don’t actually know I got that much curve on it.
