Bake Off fans complain as contestants struggle through ‘impossible’ challenge

GREAT British Bake Off fans have hit back at Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith as show ‘doesn’t give bakers enough time’ to make the tasks they’re set.

As the temperature heated up in the tent as the quarter finals dawned on them, Pastry Week set a new set of tests including vol-au-vents, spring rolls and a “pie-scape” based on a childhood storybook or nursery rhyme.

However, all remaining five contestants found themselves in trouble throughout the tasks, with Paul in particular demanding “pastry nirvana” and criticising them for not rising to the challenge.

When it came to deliberations, Prue declared the week “really disappointing” saying three out of the five showstopper pastries weren’t good enough and often dry.

But viewers were quick to defend the remaining five bakers, believing the challenges were practically impossible given the time limits they had to make their latest creations.
