NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
A string of big names will be in action on the opening day of the English Open on Monday 12 December, including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Neil Robertson and Mark Selby.
A couple of talented youngsters get a crack at last season’s World Championship finalists, with Jackson Page taking on Trump and Belgian teenager Ben Mertens playing O’Sullivan.
The world’s top 16 saw their first round matches held-over to the main stages, which sees the big names playing on the Monday, while most first round games have already been played, meaning we know that Thai cult hero Dechawat Poomjaeng awaits O’Sullivan if he beats Mertens.
Also on the opening day, highlights include Selby against Noppon Saengkham, Stuart Bingham meeting Thepchaiya Un-Nooh and Kyren Wilson take on Reanne Evans.
