Jamie Oliver’s £1 Wonders viewers rip into show’s ‘tone deaf’ money-saving tips

ICONIC chef Jamie Oliver was back on screens with a brand new one-off special to demonstrate how to get cooking family meals for less.

The Channel 4 special, titled Jamie’s £1 Wonders, featured plenty of cheap recipes such as spaghetti bolognese and microwave meals that would be perfect for the family.

All meals claimed to be be able to be made for £1 per portion or less.

However, the programme received a mixed reception with many calling out hypocrisy over the programme being sponsored by a high-end supermarket known for its expensive prices.

Waitrose underwrote the show with some viewers calling it ‘tone-deaf’ whilst other accused Jamie of cashing in on the current cost of living crisis despite him being a top earner.
