Magical ‘once in a lifetime’ Northern Lights wedding photo taken in Yorkshire

A wedding photographer, who has worked in the business for the past decade, says he took a ‘once in a lifetime’ shot last weekend – while snapping a happy couple in North Yorkshire.

Rich Smith shot Amy and Claire Wilson on their special day in Raven Hall, overlooking Robin Hood’s Bay, in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

But the photographer also captured the Northern Lights in the couple’s wedding photoshoot, which took place two weeks’ ago.

Landscape photography specialist Rich normally checks the weather forecast before a shoot, and says October 22 2022 showed the perfect conditions for capturing the Northern Lights in the UK – and the night certainly lived up to expectations.

The incredible photo shows a clear sky, no moon and no light pollution – making the visual spectacle stand out.
