Princess Anne will leave for another overseas trip within a few weeks just days after her return from a packed visit to Uganda. On November 17, the Princess Royal will head to the Falkland Islands for a five-day visit to the territory.Government House, the office of the archipelago’s governor Alison Blake CMG, announced on Monday: “Her Excellency the Governor Alison Blake CMG is delighted to announce that Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will visit the Falkland Islands from 17 to 22 November 2022.”Her Royal Highness, who last visited the Falklands in 2016, will be accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.” In June, while attending a special ceremony paying tribute to the veterans and those who lost their lives in the Falklands War 40 years ago, the Princess Royal expressed her wish to visit the city of Port Stanley, after the capital of the Falkland Islands was awarded city status by the Queen on her Jubilee year. Anne have already visited the Falklands in the past, including in 2009 and, as noted by the statement, in 2016. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and staff.”Before leaving the country, Anne paid a visit to the ‘Safe Way Right Way Driver’ Training Centre to learn about Transaid projects in Uganda focused on influencing safe driver behaviour.
