Royal expert shuts down Harry UK return ahead of memoir ‘Doubt it’

Since the upcoming memoir’s title and cover was released to the public last week, speculation has arisen as to what publicity Prince Harry is going to do ahead of the New Year publication date. Some experts have suggested the Duke could return to the UK to promote his new read, however the Daily Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers told Monday’s Lorraine that he does “doubt” that the 38-year-old will make any kind of return.Speaking to host Lorraine Kelly, Mr Myers was whether we can expect Harry to come over to the UK, from the US, to promote his memoir.Mr Myers replied: “I very much doubt that.”Lorraine also claims she doubts a UK visit as “people will go to him” as the Duke will “choose whoever he wants to talk to”.The host also spoke about Harry’s friendship with ITV presenter Tom Bradby, who “did an interview with Meghan”.READ MORE: Sarah Ferguson denies claims regarding collaboration with The Crown in rare statement Harrys book is being released on January 10 (Image: GETTY) Prince Harry is no longer a senior royal (Image: PA)Mr Myers added: “Whatever happens everybody around the world is going to be talking about it.”The royal editor then discussed the title of the memoir.He added that when he first saw the front cover, and title, he thought it was “a meme”, noting that the word Spare was “coined” by the Duke’s late mother Princess Diana in the phase ‘the heir and the spare’.He noted the 38-year-old has always thought the term was a “bit of a slur”, however, “this is going to the title of his long-awaited memoir”.READ MORE: Royal POLL: Should King Charles strip Meghan and Harry of royal titles?Following the reveal of the title, The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson spoke on the latest True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat last week.He said: “We can read so much into that term ‘spare’.”Is it an insulting term.
