JOEY Barton has arrived at court accused of attacking his wife two days before their wedding anniversary after downing four bottles of wine.
The Bristol Rovers boss allegedly left Georgia Barton, 35, with a lump the size of a “golf ball” after hitting her at home in Kew, South West London.
Barton, 40, was arrested after police found him asleep and “still intoxicated” in his bedroom, it is said.
The ex-Premier League star has arrived at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court where his assault by beating trial is continuing.
It was delayed twice after Georgia wrote a letter to prosecutors on February 17 in a bid to “exculpate” her husband.
