The environment minister made the comments during an interview discussing the alleged hacking of Liz Truss’ phone
A government minister has come under fire for claiming “some little man in China” could be listening to his personal calls during an interview about the alleged hacking of Liz Truss’ phone.
It has been claimed Ms Truss’ phone was hacked by Russian agents while she was foreign secretary to obtain details of talks with international allies about Ukraine.
Discussing the issue on Sky News this morning amid concerns that Ms Truss may have been using a personal phone at the time of the breach, environment minister Mark Spencer claimed she had “clearly” been hacked before making the comment.
He told Sky News: “The former prime minister clearly was hacked. So, that is the first thing you do, say ‘oh my goodness, I’ve been hacked, help’, and the security services will help you with that challenge.
