Elon Musk has denied a report that he is planning to cut jobs at Twitter before tomorrow to avoid having to include share grants as part of any payouts.
In a response to a Twitter user asking about the layoffs reported in The New York Times, Musk tweeted: “This is false.”
The newspaper said he had ordered cuts across the company, with some teams to be trimmed more than others and that layoffs would take place before November 1, when employees were scheduled to receive share options as part of their compensation.
Musk, however, is said to be planning widespread job cuts following his $44 billion takeover of the social media platform last week.
