A woman watched in horror as her boyfriend accidentally fell to his death from a bridge over the river Thames while they were speaking over video call, the young man’s heartbroken family has revealed.

James East, 25, was on a night out in Kingston, London, with girlfriend Arabella Ashfield to celebrate her sister’s birthday, when the evening took a tragic turn when he attempted to sit on a walled area of a bridge before falling into the river.

Heartbroken Arabella watched the horror unfold after James, of Swansea, South Wales, had been speaking with her on Facetime.

His tragic death came just six weeks after he landed a dream job as a business development executive at Trybe in London.
